Legacy & Packaged Application Data Integration, and Mobile Information Exchange

Since the late eighties, early nineties, there has been a tremendous increase in the use of computers at all levels of business. In particular, the 1990s saw an explosion of client server applications that moved a company’s computing power away from the central mainframe and distributed it to departments throughout the company.

The result of this is a wildly dissimilar group of computing systems that are used to manage information flow. As companies have grown, split apart, and merged with others, these systems have become even more difficult to manage. One of the greatest problems that companies face is that the information in these systems is used to make important business decisions, and quite often it is extremely difficult to collate the necessary information in an acceptable timeframe - if it can be collated at all.

InterPlex enables organizations to regain control of their information by:

integrating these disparate sources of information without having to replace the existing systems,

developing logic to analyze the information in accordance with the company’s business processes; and

presenting the information in a format that is useful to the end-user and decision makers.

This whole process is delivered using industry standard tools and the ever-present web browser interface.

In addition, because it is delivered using a web browser interface, the information can be delivered easily across a company’s computer network, or across the world using the Internet to customers, suppliers and other stakeholders as the company sees fit. The aim is to maximize return on investment and deliver a solution that yields real world benefits.

Mobile Information Exchange

As wireless networks become more prevalent, the use of mobile computing platforms will increase. Mobile platforms that are currently used include laptops, Tablet PCs, and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). New mobile platforms will include smart phones, motor vehicles and various embedded devices in consumer equipment.

InterPlex develops software solutions that enable information exchange between users whether they are in the office or in the field. This enables companies to manage information as it is collected, which allows greater accuracy, flexibility and speed in decision making. The ability to provide information to mobile users is a natural extension of InterPlex’s legacy and packaged application work.
